WORDWIZ
*****************************************************************
Wordwiz is a word recognition and spelling aid game. Aimed at
pre-teens, Wordwiz allows the player to guess a jumbled word, or
anagram. Each player can take a stab at 5 jumbled words, building
points as he/she goes along.
Teacher/Parent: You may build a specialized vocabulary by adding to
the dictionary. Wordwiz will let you start a new dictionary where
you may add your own words. It's an ideal way to help the kids with
their homework!
how to play...
After you open the game from the Wordwiz icon, click on START. A
jumbled word is provided. Type your guess and click on ACCEPT.
WORDWIZ awards 7 points per letter if you guess correctly.
At the end of a game, you'll see your name highlighted in the High
Scores box.
Can't get the word? Move on to the next word by clicking on PASS.
how to change the dictionary...
Click on Game in the menu bar and select Configure.
To view the dictionary, select Change Dictionary. You may press
CTRL D from anywhere in the WORDWIZ main window to view the
dictionary.
To change a word in the dictionary, click on the word in the list
and click on Edit.
To add words to the dictionary click on Game in the menu bar.
Select Configure and Add Words. Or you may press CTRL A from
anywhere in the main window.
Teacher/Parent: Use words directly from classroom sessions by
customizing the dictionary. You can even create dictionaries around
specific subjects. For example, a dictionary of foreign cities
might be useful for a geography teacher.
Select Delete Dictionary from the Configure menu to add a brand new
list of words.
Older kid (between 12 and 112): For a challenging session of
Wordwiz, try our more difficult dictionary. From the Kidware
directory in DOS, type HARDWIZ and press ENTER. From the Windows
File Manager, double click on HARDWIZ.BAT. This renames the
difficult dictionary. If you want to reset the dictionary, run
EASYWIZ.BAT from DOS or File Manager.

DEAL A FORTUNE
*****************************************************************
Another word recognition game from WordSmith. The object is to
guess letters and recognize a word up to nine letters long.
Designed for two players, the game presents a series of blocks
filled with question marks. As well, a cryptic clue gets everyone
thinking.
Players may buy letters. Or a guess may be in order. Each player
starts with $500 and the object is to win money.
Teacher/Parent: This is ideal for review-type situations, typically
words learned a long time ago. As a student plays, the spelling
and, as well, a definition of a word is a hidden goal of the game.
Teachers and parents have the option of erasing the dictionary
provided and adding both words and clues from class curriculum.
Older kid: If you want to use Deal a Fortune, try our more
difficult dictionary. From the Kidware directory in DOS, type
HARDFORT and press ENTER. From the Windows File Manager, double
click on HARDFORT.BAT. This renames the difficult dictionary. If
you want to reset the dictionary, run EASYFORT.BAT from DOS or File
Manager.
add to fortune....
To customize the dictionary, run a program called ADD-FORT.EXE. It
may be installed as Add to Fortune. You have a two-field window
open. Type the word in the top field and the cryptic clue below.
Click on Add to insert the items in the dictionary.
If you want to start a custom list, you may delete the dictionary
from the drop down menu. This file is called FORTUNE.DAT and you
may start a new one from Add to Fortune. This is particularly
useful if customizing Deal a Fortune for classroom learning.

NUMERO
*****************************************************************
A rendition of a game that comes with OS2. All you have to do is
line up the numbers in the correct order.
The trick to Numero is finding a pattern that won't leave the user
with 14, 15, 13 on the last line and players are urged to look for
that pattern from the beginning of the game.
